Airpelago is proud to announce a new successful collaboration with Arva AS. This partnership marks an important step in strengthening Airpelago’s presence in Northern Norway.

Arva is responsible for maintaining the power grid in Troms and Nordland, being one of three major power providers in the region. As part of a multi-year agreement, Arva has selected Airpelago’s autonomous drone inspection services, combined with data analysis from Arkion, to carry out comprehensive inspections of their entire grid – including detailed inspections, LiDAR and annual visual inspections.

Just 2 months after project start, Airpelago pilots have already completed some 5000+ km of power line inspection and LiDAR data collection for Arva!

Especially in northern Norway, the beautiful but challenging terrain - characterized by mountainous landscapes - is no obstacle for Airpelago’s experienced drone pilots. In fact, the occasional scenic hike is one of the job’s many perks.

Long-term, this collaboration means Airpelago will provide high-resolution imagery to enable precise defect detection, along with complimentary LiDAR data to create accurate 3D models of power line assets and surrounding vegetation – ensuring a reliable and efficient inspection process for years to come.
